Crankshafts
- Hot Rods, Inc. Crankshafts are sold complete with the original proven Hot Rods Connecting Rods, top
end bearings, and crankshaft webs.
- Multi-cylinder applications are sold complete with main bearings (unless specified otherwise).
- Factory assembled and trued to OEM specifications, Hot Rods, Inc. Cranks will meet or surpass the OEM in
performance and durability.
- Hot Rods, Inc. Cranks are complete and ready for installation.
- Crankshafts are completely rebuildable with genuine Hot Rods, Inc. connecting rods.
Connecting Rod Kits
- Hot Rods, Inc. crank pins are manufactured from hot-rolled ASTM 4115 and case-hardened to 58 - 62 Rc.
- Hot Rods, Inc. works directly with their bearing factory's engineering department to bring you the latest in caged
needle roller bearing designs for high RPM.
- Uniquely designed big end uses strategically located side scalloping and vent slots to minimize high
RPM bearing race distortion.
- Hot Rods, Inc. are double forged to improve grain flow and maintain dimensional consistency. Furthermore,
they're shot peened to eliminate surface stress risers and to smoothly blend the rod forging's radiuses
together. Unlike hand ground and polished rods, shot peening produces more consistent dimensioning
and surface finish for superior strength under heavy loads.
- By shot peening the connecting rod's surface, fatigue durability is improved two times over a forged rod,
and over eight times when compared to a polished rod.
- Double honing produces and ultra round (50 millionths) bearing surface, producing a reliable high RPM
connecting rod.
- Small ends are double drilled to supply extra lubrication and cooling to the wrist pin bearing,
which is especially important when the piston crown is close to the wrist pin bearing. Silver coated bronze
phosphor thrust washer.
Stoker Cranks and Piston Kits
Hot Rods, Inc. is proud to introduce its stroker ATV crankshaft line. We have developed six long-stroke applications
for ATVs. Also, Hot Rods, Inc. has developed four special pistons for the Banshee, Warrior, Raptor, and TRX 400 making
these installations fast and simple by avoiding additional machine work and parts typically required for
long-stroke engines.
Hot Rods, Inc. Banshee 4mm Stroker Piston:
- For use with 4mm Banshee Stroker crankshaft (HR part# 4111)
- Relocated wristpin bore.
- Piston skirts coated with MoS2 - PTFE for better break-in and wear resistance.
- Complete with rings, clips and wristpin.
Hot Rods, Inc. ATV 4 Stroke Big Bore Forged Stroker Pistons (TRX400, Raptor 660, and Warrior 350):
- For use with Hot Rods, Inc. Stroker crankshafts (HR part# 4140,4143, and 4144)
- Relocated wristpin bore eliminates the need for special spacer plate and custom cam chain.
- Simply bolt in Hot Rods, Inc. Stroker crank and piston - no other modifications necessary.
- Complete with rings, clips and wristpin.
